Serving Together. Impacting Together.

Over the past several days, the Blue and White Family came together in support of the residents of Unity House.

In response to an appeal for assistance, the brothers of the Delta Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and the sisters of the Theta Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. mobilized to help meet both immediate and ongoing needs at the facility.

On Saturday, through support of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Greasy Pit Steakout, we purchased and delivered 30 meals to the 29 residents of Unity House. Today, we continued those efforts by providing 30 cases of bottled water, adult care items, and several months’ worth of cleaning supplies.

While these donations will help meet practical needs, the greater impact lies in what can be accomplished when organizations unite in service to others.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support the important work being done at Unity House and proud of what can happen when the Blue and White Family answers the call together.

Guided by Phi Beta Sigma’s motto, “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity,” and Zeta Phi Beta’s commitment as “ A community-conscious, action-oriented organization”, we remain dedicated to serving those in need and strengthening the communities we call home.

A storm does not have to make landfall to impact our families, our homes, and our communities. The steps you take today can make a significant difference tomorrow.

The Delta Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. encourages every Bahamian family to review their hurricane plans, secure important documents, charge devices, gather essential supplies, and know where they will go if evacuation becomes necessary.

Just as important, remember to check on elderly relatives, neighbors, and those who may need assistance before, during, and after a storm.
