Celebrating 13 Years of Bilas Sarkar at Field Nation!
13 years is a long time — and it’s pretty amazing to think about how much has changed at Field Nation during that time, and how much Bilas has been part of that journey.
As a Staff Software Engineer leading the Garnet and Slate teams, Bilas has been deeply involved in some of our most important BreakFix initiatives. He brings a calm, thoughtful approach to difficult problems and has a great ability to take something complex, break it down, and help the team figure out how to get it done.
Smart Dispatch is a great example. It was a complex feature with a lot of moving pieces, and Bilas was instrumental in designing it, leading the engineering effort, and ultimately getting it delivered for our BreakFix customers. Seeing something like that go from a challenging idea to a working product is a great reflection of the kind of engineer and leader Bilas is.
And honestly, there’s a reason that when we have a really complex project to build, Bilas’s name often comes up. :smile: He has earned that reputation over the years — not just because of his technical skills, but because he is someone who is willing to take on the hard problems and see them through.
What I also appreciate about Bilas is the experience he brings to the team. After 13 years, he carries a tremendous amount of knowledge about our systems, our products, and the problems we’ve solved along the way. That experience becomes especially valuable when we’re facing something new and there isn’t an obvious answer.
Bilas, thank you for 13 years of dedication, hard work, and everything you’ve contributed to Field Nation. Thank you for taking on the hard problems, supporting the teams around you, and continuing to raise the bar on engineering.
