Dear Thornbury & friends of Zaubertrank,

This will be our final week of trading in our current form and location. The past year has been a wild ride and we really canโ€™t thank you all enough for the support and smiles along the way.

After this Saturday, weโ€™ll be taking a short break, before reappearing in our new permanent home (even closer to Carwyn Cellars ๐Ÿ‘€).

Another addition to our cocktail menu by Preston behind the bar!

Our second magic potion itโ€™s a nice fruity but complex drink. Very drinkable and delicious, almost dangerous for the same reasons ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ”ธ ๐‘ฒ๐’Š๐’˜๐’Š ๐‘บ๐’๐’–๐’“

A great cocktail to start your soirรฉe, made with the award winning The Gospel Whiskey Straight Rye, with a nice rich spice character and vanilla oak flavours. This delicious whiskey is mixed with some freshly made kiwi puree which adds sweetness with a bit of lemon juice to cut through the sweetness and add that delicious extra tartness ๐Ÿฅ

Note that this sour cocktail is made with aquafaba instead of the traditional egg-white, so itโ€™s vegan-friendly and deliciously fluffy and creamy ๐Ÿคคโ˜

The Trank is open form 2PM on Fridays and Saturdays, see ya there! โœŒ

We talk a lot about this particular beverage, maybe you should know why! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Probably the most famous bitter in the world, UNDERBERG has become a staple of German digestifs.

In 1846 Hubert Underberg carefully selected the herbs from 43 countries and developed a process that guarantees gentle extraction of the active ingredients from the exquisite, aromatic herbs. They call their secret process "SEMPER IDEM", which means "Always the same" and only 5 people know it, and has been kept the same for five generations under the same family.

It has no sugar added, which makes it quite bitter, but very complex. A great digestif to make you feel invigorated ๐Ÿ’ช (and yes, the full bottle is one serving).

Give it a go today in our Wursty Thursdays from 5:30pm, only $5 a pop ๐Ÿ˜‰

Since we love all kinds of magic potions, we decided to whip up some new ones for you all ๐Ÿ˜‰

Preston, garรงon and bartender extraordinaire, has come up with a couple of delicious concoctions to elevate your visit to the next level ๐Ÿ’ช

First up, a unique and delicious end-of-dinner, digestif kind of cocktail (although itโ€™s so yum that we wonโ€™t judge you for ordering it as soon as you walk in ๐Ÿ˜œ)

๐Ÿ”ธ ๐‘ต๐’‚๐’–๐’ˆ๐’‰๐’•๐’š ๐‘ฎ๐’†๐’“๐’Ž๐’‚๐’

This one consists of a blend of a German digestif, a nice fruity twist with some Crรจme de Cassis (Blackcurrant liqueur) and finally lemon juice to cut through the sweetness. Itโ€™s full flavoured with a beautiful herbal complexity, perfect to wrap up a good evening or to get you started ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Yes, we do have a focus on German Wines, but we absolutely adore local producers, especially when they make such good wine as this:

Sonnen Wine are a small producer from Tasmania. Sonnen is the side project of talented Tasmanian viticulturist Luke Andree who makes these small batch wines alongside his day job at Mewstone Wines.

"This wine is a pseudo-Alsatian style blend of 75% Riesling from the Coal and 25% Gewurztraminer from the Upper Tamar. The Gewurz was fermented on skins for 2 weeks bringing a slight pink tinge and a bit of grip. Aromatic and bright for springtime picnic drinking."

Yeah it's an Australian wine, but we do love our German grapes, especially something as refreshing as this ๐Ÿ˜œ
