Introducing A.R.B.

ARB is an acronym for Alice’s Restaurant Bed affectionately christened by Dr. Mary Drosser, the paleontologist who has been researching the fossils at Nilpena Station for twenty years due to being able to “get anything you want”. The fossil bed contains Ediacaran fossils, many of which are extremely rare and remarkably well preserved in a fine-grained sandstone.

Barossa Valley was selected as the source for the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this wine. With a vibrant spectrum of red and black fruit flavours with rich tannins which give elegant structure, depth and length, this wine will age magnificently for many years.

The Flinders Range wines are made and sourced exclusively for The Prairie Hotel. There are currently six wines in the collection. The striking labels are inspired by the unique biodiversity of the Ediacaran fossils discovered within the Flinders Ranges. This combination also serves to educate and highlight three of South Australia's bounty of riches - wine, fossils and tourism.
