After almost a year since our last winery visit, it was certainly fantastic to get out there again and was an amazing way to kick things off! 😀

Situated in a quieter part of Victoria’s renowned Yarra Valley wine region, the views from this estate are second to none.  Producing around 35,000 bottles per year, the cellar door tasting includes a fantastic range of estate grown wines which have already been aged, from a 2011 Brut de Brut to start off, through to a 2007 Cabernet Merlot to finish.  John and Jeannie are very hospitable and knowledgeable and are more than happy to walk you through their range of wines in a tasting space that is modern and bright and takes in those amazing views out over the vineyards, valley & mountains.  There are also a number of other offerings including a range of small bites and a fabulous looking High Tea that you can enjoy out on the deck, as well as other events throughout the year including live music, “Paint & Sip” and “Stretch & Sip”.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and congratulate the team for providing a marvellous offering and receiving our “Hidden Gem” award!  👏🍷 Check out the full review of our experience on our website.

It’s been a while between drinks, but our first cellar door of the summer season certainly didn’t disappoint.

With a fabulous underground cellar, great range of predominantly estate grown wines (the Pinot Noir and Brut were particular favourites) and beautiful food including a great alfresco dining area overlooking the vineyards, is a great spot for a Sunday sip 😉🍷

Thanks to Corrie for walking us through the range of wines and we definitely look forward to returning soon 😀

We couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Japanese wine than that received from 🙏

Dating back to 1923, this 5th generation family run winery is producing around 200,000 bottles a year from both local grape varietal, Koshu, as well as other varietals including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Being our first real exposure to Japanese wine, we weren’t sure what to expect, but we really enjoyed the entire range, with particular favourites being the 2018 Koshu Toriibira Vineyard Private Reserve, the 2009 Cuvée Misawa and the 2014 Method Traditional 🍷🥂

A huge thankyou to Ayako Yokouchi for organising this for us and Chief winemaker and family member for taking such amazing care of us and walking us through the fabulous range of wines. We will definitely keep our eyes out for your wines when we get home 😀🍷🥂

With views like these, it’s hard not to love the Coal River Valley wine region 😀🍷

Already home to one of our favourite cellar doors (), every time we visit Southern Tasmania there is something new to discover with so many options for great cool climate wines, including some stunning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling, fresh and creative food and superb scenery.

There is also a fabulous array of cellar doors, most of which are family owned, giving you a great opportunity to sit down with the people behind the wine for a great tasting and chat.

Congratulations to and who received our “Hidden Gem" award, joining previous winners in the region 👋👋 An overview of the region and detailed reviews of cellar doors visited can be found on our website 😀🍷🍾

We recently visited the Alpine Valleys wine region which is situated in the north-east of Victoria and winds through the valleys at the base of Victoria's ski region. The area is known for it's stunning landscapes, premium cool climate wines and since our last visit, there seems to have been a significant foodie, bar and lounge revival with a number of fantastic offerings in the town of Bright.Due to the many micro-climates in the area, the region is home to over 30 grape varieties, ranging from traditional varieties such as Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon to less common varietals, such as Sangiovese, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Vermentino, Savagnin, Teroldego and Marzemino. The cellar doors in the area tend to be smaller, more family run offerings, providing for a great personal experience as well as offering a number of different dining options and we had a great time at each one visited.

Congratulations to who received a "2 Door" award, who received a "1 Door" award and who received our “Hidden Gem" award. 👋👋 An overview of the region and detailed reviews of cellar doors visited can be found on our website🍷🍾🥂

We recently returned to Victoria’s King Valley, an amazingly picturesque wine region in North Eastern Victoria. The area is particularly known for Italian style wine varietals such as Prosecco, Sangiovese, Barbera, Arneis and a variety of others. Being an area with a high degree of variance in elevation, the King Valley produces a large number of cooler climate varietals and you certainly see this in the extensive tasting lists at most of the regions wineries. There are also a range of great dining experiences including at a number of the areas cellar doors. There is a great sense of history, tradition and pride in the King Valley and with a little over a dozen cellar doors to visit and equally as many dining options, this regions is a food and wine lovers dream! Congratulations to who received our "2 Door" award. Check out our detailed cellar door reviews from this and previous trips to the region on our website 🍷🍾🥂

After a few months off, we’re easing back into it with a great tasting and lunch at Shadowfax Wines 😀🍷

With grapes sourced from Werribee/Port Phillip, Macedon Ranges and Geelong, is able to produce a wide variety of wines including some beautiful Riesling, Chardonnay and Shiraz as well as a few very limited, single vineyard wines.

Only 30 minutes out of Melbourne and housed within a stylish space, the cellar door offers a couple of different tasting options and with a great food offering and enthusiastic team, this makes for a great winery experience🍷🍾🥂
