💛 What a wonderful result from our Anti-Cancer Practice Match!

Approximately $3,734 has been raised for the North Bellarine Bowling Clubs Florenca Family Anti-Cancer Appeal, with funds raised still making their way onto the Anti-Cancer Appeal fundraising page. We’ll share the final amount once all funds raised have been added and the fundraiser has closed.

A huge thank you to our friends from St Leonards Bowling Club Drysdale Bowling Club and Clifton Springs Bowling Club who joined Portarlington for this special day. An incredible 184 players took part, with 112 playing at Portarlington and 72 at St Leonards.

Each of the four clubs contributed seven teams of four to the Portarlington event while the remaining players took part at the event hosted by St Leonards Bowls Club. Thank you to St Leonards, and particularly Barry Padgham, who was in charge there on the day.

Our sincere thanks to John Florenca and his sister Lianda Florenca, and the Florenca family, whose generous support has provided funding for this event for the next three years. We’re delighted that the Anti-Cancer Practice Match will now become an annual event.

We would also like to acknowledge the generous support of Alison Marchant - Member for Bellarine, Mortimer Petroleum and Jenkins & Son Fresh Fish.

Thank you to everyone who played, helped, donated, bought raffle tickets and supported the day and to all the volunteers who helped make the day such a success.

And a special thank you to Robin Roberts for bringing the day together and coordinating with the other clubs to make it all happen.

🏆 Men’s Minor Singles Championship 2026/27

Congratulations to Alan Smith, our 2026/27 Men’s Minor Singles Champion, defeating Rob Daly in a terrific final.

It was a tight contest from start to finish, with the scores neck and neck and some great bowls being played by both men.

Congratulations to Alan on taking out the title, and to Rob on a fantastic championship campaign (including over 50 ends competed today during his two matches )👏

These are two fantastic up and coming bowlers and we look forward to watching them continue to develop and progress over the coming years.

Well done, Alan and Rob! 🏴‍☠️💙💛

🏆 Calling all clubs – get your team together for Grand Final Eve!

Our Stockdale & Leggo Mixed Triples Tournament is coming up on Friday 25 September 2026, and we’d love to welcome teams from clubs across the Bellarine, Geelong and surrounding areas to Portarlington.

It’s shaping up to be a great day of friendly competition – and with Grand Final weekend upon us, we’re encouraging everyone to wear their footy colours and join in the fun! 🏉

Registration: 9:45 am
Play commences: 10:30 am

✔️ Two games of 10 ends
✔️ Two-bowl mixed triples
✔️ $60 per team
✔️ $1,000 prize pool
✔️ Maximum 26 teams
✔️ BYO lunch
✔️ Bar open throughout the day
✔️ Footy colours encouraged!
