Four years ago today, our brewery equipment arrived in Mount Beauty. Looking back, it somehow feels like both yesterday and a lifetime ago.
Running a brewery had always been our dream—but then COVID happened, and that dream had to wait. In 2022, after plenty of uncertainty, the equipment finally arrived and the real work began.
To be fair, it has been a long and difficult road. We faced more hurdles than we could ever have imagined, and it would still be many months before we released our very first b**r. But we kept going—one brew, one keg and one challenge at a time.
Today, we are genuinely so stoked to see Mountain Monk b**rs being poured and stocked throughout the Alpine Shire, Indigo Shire and the wider Border region, as well as further afield in Melbourne, Newcastle and Brisbane!
We have even collected a few awards and medals along the way. We are incredibly proud of those achievements, but we are even prouder that people choose to drink our b**r, serve it, stock it and come back for another.
None of this would have been possible without everyone who has supported us—our customers, loyal regulars, stockists, visitors, local community, team, friends and family. Whether you have bought a pint, taken home a can, stocked our b**r, visited the brewery, shared one of our posts or recommended us to a mate, you have helped keep this dream alive.
It hasn’t always been easy, and we are still learning as we go—but we love what we do. Four years later, we remain incredibly grateful, humbled and proud that our dream became a reality.
