As a father of three young children, I know that every parent wants the same thing - for their children to be safe.
No child, regardless of their age, should be subjected to violence or feel unsafe when they go to school, play sport, or participate in community life.
I had the opportunity to meet with Tammy, Mark and Katie, who are working hard to bring our community together and drive an important conversation around this issue.
Community safety is everyone's responsibility - parents, schools, organisations and local leaders all have a role to play in ensuring the safety and respect of our young people.
I encourage everyone to come together this Sunday at Victoria Park Lake, to stand together and reinforce a simple but powerful message.
