Beer is a journey… How far will you go?

The South Coast Tap House Beer Explorer Championships are a fun, interactive monthly challenge celebrating beer discovery, flavour exploration, and the love of great beer.

This isn’t about drinking the most beer.

It’s about:

* discovering different beer styles
* exploring local breweries
* taking on Mystery Beer challenges
* trying something outside your comfort zone
* learning along the way

HOW IT WORKS

Every month brings:

* a fresh championship
* new challenges
* Mystery Beers
* featured styles
* opportunities to score points and climb the leaderboard

Earn points by:

* trying different beer styles
* exploring local brewery beers
* participating in Mystery Beer Challenges
* attending Beerducation sessions
* completing tasting experiences
* embracing the journey

The more you explore, the more points you earn.

MONTHLY CHAMPIONS

At the end of each month:

* champions are crowned
* prizes are awarded
* legends are remembered

LEADERBOARD

Track your progress on the in-bar Beer Explorer Leaderboard and see how you stack up against fellow beer lovers across the South Coast.

Climb the rankings, unlock bragging rights, and earn your place in South Coast Tap House history.

Today is all about NSW, the Blues and the Sapphire Coast.

Let’s start with our Logo.
It’s Blue to reflect the crystal clear waters of the South Coast.

Our Beers. 99% of our beers come from NSW because we obviously make the best beers!

The Sapphire Coast is aptly named after our Blue waters which dominate the coastline and are better than most beaches up North

Sapphire Coast Beers. We have a range of hyper local beers including

Sapphire Coast Brewery Pale Ale
Longstocking Brewery South Coast Pale Ale (on tap but not pictured)
And Sapphire Coast Wet Hop Hazy on tap today from Seeker Brewing

This sweet little hazy features Ryefield Hops from Bemboka in NSW.

So as you can see we are fiercely loyal to NSW, the South Coast and the Sapphire Coast NSW.

Hosted by Certified Cicerone® Beer Server and Beer Educator Nigel Ayling, these weekly group sessions combine guided tastings with stories, history, sensory training, and practical beer knowledge.

Whether you’re completely new to beer or already a passionate beer lover, these sessions are designed to help you explore beer with confidence — without intimidation, pretension, or judgement.
Beerducation© is also a great way to meet new people.

The sessions are run as open group experiences where guests can sit together, learn together, ask questions, share opinions, and discover new flavours in a supportive and relaxed environment.

Each Beerducation© session includes:

🍺 Guided beer tastings
🧠 Interactive beer education
👃 Aroma and flavour discovery
🍽 Beer and food pairing discussions
