🍺 OUR BIRTHDAY B**R NEEDS A NAME – AND WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🎉

We're turning ONE on Sunday 1 November, and to celebrate, our mates at Resin Brewing have brewed us something very special!

Introducing our very own Golden Ale!🍻

Golden Ale is an emerging b**r style that showcases the unique flavours and aromas of New Zealand hops, typically delivering bright, fruity and tropical characters in a refreshing, easy-drinking golden ale.

It's a relatively new style, which seems rather fitting for a Tap House celebrating its first year and looking forward to what comes next!

But there's one problem... we haven't named it yet!

We've narrowed it down to a few favourites:

🥇 YEAR ONE – Celebrating our first 12 months and everyone who's been part of the journey.

🌅 NEW HORIZONS – Looking forward to new b**rs, new experiences and the next chapter of our journey.

✨ GOLDEN PROMISE– A nod to the golden ale style and the promise of great things still to come.

Next Sunday 1 November the South Coast Tap House turns ONE!

It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since we opened our doors in the Galleria Arcade.

We've poured some incredible b**rs, met some amazing people and created a little community of b**r explorers along the way.

So next Sunday, we're celebrating.

🍺🇩🇪 MÄRZEN – THE ORIGINAL OKTOBERFEST B**R!

As October draws to a close, so does our Oktoberfest b**r selection. But we’ve still got a few German favourites to enjoy before they’re gone!

And we’re starting with the b**r that started it all. Märzen!

🇩🇪 A little B**rducation…

Märzen literally translates to March in German, because traditionally that’s when this b**r was brewed. Before modern refrigeration, brewers would make their b**r in March, store it in cool cellars over summer, and bring it out for the autumn celebrations, including Oktoberfest.

In fact, Märzen was the traditional Oktoberfest b**r long before the lighter Festbier styles became the norm in Munich.

🍺 So what’s it taste like?

Think smooth, clean and wonderfully easy-drinking. A beautiful amber l***r with gentle toasted bread and biscuit flavours, a touch of malt sweetness and a crisp, balanced finish.

Despite its rich colour, it’s surprisingly refreshing, making it a fantastic b**r for a warm spring day like today.

After a few weeks of Oktoberfest, we thought we'd give Germany a rest and explore another great European b**r tradition.

Introducing FREDAGSBAR!

In Danish, fredag means Friday, and bar means… well, you can probably work that one out. 😂

In Denmark, Fredagsbar is a popular tradition where workmates and university students get together on Friday afternoons to unwind, enjoy a drink and celebrate the end of the week.

It's not just about b**r. It's about friendship, conversation and spending time together.

Sound familiar?

We reckon the Danes are onto something.

In fact, we've already got our own version happening right here in Merimbula.

We call it HOPPY HOURS! 🍻

Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3pm to 5pm, we give you another good reason to knock off, catch up with friends and discover some great b**rs.

So whether you've had a long week at work, survived the school holidays or simply need an excuse to catch up with some mates, perhaps it's time to embrace a little Danish culture.

🍺 40+ KEGS. COUNTLESS GREAT B**RS. WHICH WAS YOUR FAVOURITE? 🍺

As we count down to our 1st Birthday on Sunday 1 November, we've been looking back at all the amazing b**rs we've shared with you over the past 12 months.

And what a journey it's been!

We've had over 40 different kegs on tap, showcasing some of the very best independent breweries from the South Coast and beyond.

From crisp Pilsners and refreshing Pale Ales to big hoppy IPAs, rich dark b**rs, Belgian Tripels, Saisons and fruity Sours, we've certainly covered some ground!

One of the things we love most about the Tap House is introducing people to b**rs and styles they might never have tried before. And judging by how many empty kegs we've gone through, you've been enjoying the journey too!
