Join Rhiz & The Sugarplums as they fire up the Kameruka Hall for a night of original retro-style honkytonk, western swing and rock’n’roll music on Friday September 18th. 

Get along for a listen and a dance, as they launch their brand new Nashville-recorded album, ‘All Over Again’.

The night will kick off with an opening set from local songbird, Kate Burke.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, Rhiz & The Sugarplums are a five-piece honkytonk/rockabilly band reviving a retro country sound that’s as timeless as it is irresistible.

Exciting news for lovers of Brass Bands!

This weekend the Sapphire Coast Concert Band (SCCB) and the Bega District Band join forces to perform a program sparkling with musical variety, and bursting with brassy goodness!

2 shows on Saturday 5th
3pm and 6.30pm
At the amazing Headland Theatre

The 3pm show features the SCCB and BDB plus a set by Sapphire Coast Anglican College (SCAC) Concert Band

The 6:30pm show also features both The SCCB and BDB plus a set from the Bega All Ages Development Band (BAAD Band) and The Trumpeteers!

Come and hear the real thing, and help us pay tribute to the wonderful Dave Moore.

This is a Sound Start event and will feature support sets from some of our incredible local youth acts.

A big welcome to Exit Smiling, Flavuh, Gypsy Rigatos, Hugo Hamilton, Ruby Holden and Rusty & The Bucketheads. 

These awesome acts have been selected for the Sound Start program and will participate in a series of informative workshops, as well as receiving assistance to further their careers and performing at showcase events supporting Dear Seattle, Seahaven, WAAX, Val Moogz and Felicity Dowd.

As the saying goes, a dash of salt brings out the best in everything. And when it comes to music it doesn’t get more appetising than Benji And The Saltwater Sound System. Since their formation a couple of years back, this tangy tribe of groove merchants have hit the shoreline swimming.

Like all of the greatest live acts, their sound is ever revolving – responding to the audience and the room, taking bold new turns and venturing into new territory. It was this willingness to grow and develop that led to the band’s infectious debut album, Coming Up For Water, featuring much loved live favourite Top Bunk Trait – garnished in sweet guitar licks and feet-pounding horns.

In addition to their debut album, Benji And The Saltwater Sound System has also released a second EP titled Ripples of Thunder, which has garnered critical acclaim. The EP features a more mature sound that showcases the band’s growth and evolution as musicians. With tracks like “Guess It’s Safe” and “Fortune Ate,” the EP is a testament to the band’s ability to create music that is both powerful and thought-provoking.

Benji And The Saltwater Sound System fuse Pacific flavours with the raw rolling sounds of the Australian Pacific coast. Add to this poignant lyrics and a will to transcend genre and you are part the way there. The band has graced some of the most iconic stages of the country.
