GARAGE PROJECT: GARAGE PARTY 2 - MAY 23RD FROM MIDDAY AT THE CATFISH.

So other than EXCELLENT beer (and Pete's cardboard cutout haunting the residents of Aro Valley) who are these folks?

Garage Project was started by Pete Gillespie & Jos Ruffell with help from Pete’s brother Ian. When they started out they were tiny. Garage Project wasn't even micro brewing... it was truly nano brewing.

A few years have passed and while they’ve grown, that same ethos still shapes how things are done at the Garage.

Whether they’re brewing 50 litres or several thousand, they’re still here to take some risks, have a bit of fun, and try something new.

When asked about Pint of Origin, Garage Project co-owner Pete Gillespie wrote:

“Melbourne holds a very special place in our hearts. As a young brewery we were sending beers over to Melbourne before we sent them to Auckland. Pint of Origin is an amazing opportunity to share the beers we love and reconnect with energy and enthusiasm of Melbourne’s craft community in one of our all time favorite bars. “

So who are these phenomenal creators of quality beer?

Since 2017, the dedicated Urbanaut Brewing Co. crew of crafting aficionados and party scientists have been producing some of New Zealand's freshest and most innovative drops.

Their Kingsland home in Auckland is a true highlight, which we highly reccommend checking it out if you're in Aotearoa.

Urbanaut's senior sales assosciate/party liason Guy Innes had this to say about the tap takeover on May 22nd:

“At Urbanaut our origin story is really part of our DNA and life blood.

To the point where we chose our Central Auckland brewery site specifically to try and become ‘The’ Auckland craft brewery of excellence. After 9 years in business we believe we have achieved that goal and are jumping at the chance to attend our very first PINT OF ORIGIN!

Kia Ora to all lovers of beer and friends of the Catfish. We are so happy to be part of the 2026 edition of Pint Of Origin, and once again we are proud to represent our Cussies from New Zealand.

Duncan's Brewing Co., Garage Project , 8 WIRED BREWING , Shining Peak Brewing, Urbanaut Brewing Co, Liberty Brewing Company, and Double Vision Brewing all return, and joining us for the first time ever, are Shortjaw and Abandoned Brewery.

Pint Of Origin 2026 runs from friday the 15th of May till Sunday the 24th of May.
