Now a core pillar of Pivot, we spoke to Rachel Latham about what’s brought her to this point, in anticipation for her debut solo set this Saturday at Spring!

What got you into DJing?
I missed going to dance parties, so wanted to learn how to bring them to Dubbo!

Whats your favourite rave you’ve been to?
Mischluft

What artists have shaped your music taste?
The Prodigy, Gorillaz, the Chemical Brothers, and anything from a Ministry of Sound CD from the early 2000s

How long have you been DJing for?
I properly learnt this year!

Introducing: Shuko

Zambian-born and Sydney-based DJ, composer and producer Shuko channels his Southern African roots through a global palette of Afro-diasporic and low-end club sounds. Drawing from house, gqom, grime, bubbling, kuduro, footwork and funk, delivering an energetic, drum-driven sound built for the dancefloor. Alongside his percussive club rhythms, Shuko blends spacious textures and buried melodies, adding depth, emotion and atmosphere to his high-energy sound.
