💜 Today is Purple Friday. Standing Together to End Domestic, Family & Sexual Violence 💜
Today, 8 May, Central Social Club proudly joins more than 200 registered clubs across the country to support Purple Friday, Clubs Say No to Domestic Violence.
Purple Friday is about turning awareness into action. Our team is here to listen, support and connect anyone who may need help, guidance or resources.
✨ Here’s what’s happening at Central Social Club today:
Our leadership team will be wearing purple shirts, ready to share information and support discreetly.
We've got complimentary purple cupcakes every Friday during May with any coffee purchased.
Look out for purple screens and signage with links to online support and helplines.
Central Social Club has always been a welcoming community space and today, we stand united in looking out for one another.
💜 Purple represents strength, courage and dignity. A reminder to check in, speak up, and support survivors.
This movement started at Cherry Street Sports Club after the tragic loss of local woman Lindy Lucena in 2023, and has grown into a state-wide initiative thanks to ClubsNSW’s Clubs for Community United Against Violence program, empowering clubs across NSW, QLD and the ACT to take meaningful action.
