R U OK? DAY — MORE THAN JUST ONE QUESTION 💛

At Ember Elixir, we’re normally all about open flames, BBQs, good food and bringing people together — but sometimes bringing people together means something much more important. 🔥💛

R U OK? Day, held on 10th September, is a reminder to check in with the people around you, start meaningful conversations and let others know they’re not alone

R U OK? Day is something that means a lot to us

Life gets busy. People go through things we may know absolutely nothing about, and sometimes the person laughing, working beside you or saying “yeah mate, I’m good” might actually be doing it pretty tough

That’s why taking a few minutes to genuinely ask someone “Are you OK?” matters

You don’t need to have all the answers

💛 Ask the question
👂 Actually listen
🤝 Be there without judgement
📱 And most importantly — check in again

A BBQ has always been a place where people gather, talk, laugh and connect, and we reckon there’s something pretty special about using what we do at Ember Elixir to help start a few more of those important conversations

And this year, we’re planning something a little special alongside the team at Karreman Quarries 👀🔥

Over the weekend, we had the pleasure of catering for a wonderful couple for their wedding.

3 X meats, 3 X hot sides and 3 X salads to feed a guest list of 60 people..

Meats: Sirloin Roast, Ember Elixir signature Chicken breasts and Italian herbed pork porchetta. All were dusted with Rubs from the Smokey Joe's.

Salads: House made coleslaw, Caprese pasta salad and Ceasar salad

Hot sides: Potato Bake, Roast vegetables and garlic green beans / broccolini

Complemented with bread rolls, gravy and signature sauces from Smokey Joe's Rubs.

Congratulations to our newly weds.

All while keeping hydrated with a Perentie Brewing Co. Summer dry lager..

We’ve made it through the deck, but there’s still one final hand to play at the Vegas Showdown Beer & BBQ Classic…

For our last roll of the dice, we’re stacking the deck with:

Now there’s nothing left to do but cross our fingers, grab a cold one and see whether Lady Luck has been hanging around the Ember Elixir camp. 🍺🎰

This little piggy didn’t go to market…
he went straight to VEGAS. 😂🎲

We’re loading it up with:

🥃 Finished with our very own custom Ember Elixir sauce

A little spice, plenty of fire and enough Mojo to hopefully charm the pants off the judges. 😏🐷

No poker face needed for this one — we’re doubling down on flavour and pushing the whole stack into the middle.
