Chelsea J Gibson is very much a crossover artist with many influences, merging from pop, blues, jazz, rock, soul and musical theatre. Currently making her world into the Perth Jazz scene with successful performances at the new jazz club 'The Ellington', Jazz Fremantle and the Perth Jazz society shows, with her band 'Chelsea J & the Juice Extractors'. Also a regular face at the Perth Blues club and
recently with new blues band 'Chelsea Gibson and the Green Ginger Band', with her father on keys. Chelsea’s many television appearances have included being a Top 11 finalist on 'Popstars' for 'Bardot' in 1999 as well as performing live on the American T.V. show 'Fast Track to Fame' at 'Planet Hollywood Studios' in Los Angeles to an international audience of 40 million viewers. In 2003 Chelsea was a top 20 finalist in the first ‘Australian Idol’ where Marcia Hines was quoted as saying: “She's got this really cool, positive thing happening. She's got great conviction and commitment and with those two things it doesn't matter what you do in this life you can't go wrong. You go girl!”
Performing kids shows in musical theatre comedy style with 'Inspector Pickles' as characters 'Sergeant Gherkin' and 'Madame Decay'. Also performing solo gigs around Perth - piano and voice and the blues harmonica. Chelsea is also a vocal coach and piano teacher. Has done recent tours in Malaysia with a Norah Jones tribute show, which was very popular in Kuching. And also a high energy dance Shakira style latin show with back up dancers. Recently asked to perform on national Australian TV on the ABC at the end of the show 'Stateline', Chelsea performed an original song called 'Its so beautiful'. Currently working on debut album with huge production, choirs and orchestral arrangements with producer James Hewgill,
Chelsea describes her original music as Anthemic! - like rock anthems. She has just filmed a flim clip for the title track of the album 'Enjoy the journey', which is now on
you tube, and will be showcased as the inflight song for New Zealand airlines and is currently shown on RAGE
