It is with heavy hearts that we announce The Wharf has closed its doors effective immediately, after almost 19 beautiful years on the Marina.
For close to two decades, The Wharf has been a much-loved part of the Marina Pier and Glenelg community. What began as a restaurant became a home filled with familiar faces, celebrations, traditions, and moments that mattered. From locals at their usual table to visitors discovering the Marina for the first time, it has held a special place in so many hearts. So much care, passion, and hard work has gone into shaping The Wharf, making it a deeply loved establishment by its owners, staff, and all who have been part of this journey.
Over recent years, increasing economic pressures, rising operational costs, and ongoing uncertainty has created significant challenges for our business. After much consideration, this has led to the heartbreaking decision to close our doors. It is a decision that was not made lightly, especially for a venue that means so much to so many.
To our loyal customers, regulars, locals, and visitors, thank you for supporting us across our 18 years of trade. From meals, celebrations, and sunset drinks on the Marina, it has been a privilege to be part of such a rich collection of special moments.
We also want to sincerely thank our suppliers and partners for their support and loyalty, particularly during the many challenges faced by the hospitality industry.
Finally, to our incredible staff, past and present, thank you feels like far too small a phrase. The warmth, energy, and dedication you brought to The Wharf is what made it truly special. The memories created here simply would not exist without you.
While this goodbye is incredibly difficult, we close this chapter feeling immensely proud of what The Wharf has been to Glenelg for the past 18 years.
