Zwischen Feuerstein, Kräutern und salziger Frische – dieser Furmint aus dem Quarz von Michael Wenzel zeigt, wie spannend diese Rebsorte sein kann. Mineralisch, präzise und mit richtig viel Charakter.

In der Nase: Zitrus, weißer Pfirsich, etwas Kräuterwürze und kühle Steinigkeit.
Am Gaumen: straff, lebendig und mit langem, salzigem Finish.

Ein Wein für alle, die Spannung im Glas suchen.

Absoluter Wahnsinn, was da in der Steiermark passiert.
Herbert König öffnet eine Flasche aus seiner Kollektion, schaut mich an und sagt zu mir: „Probier mal und sag mir deine Meinung.“

Meine Meinung dazu:
Ich hätte niemals gedacht, dass Blauer Wildbacher so eine tiefgründige Struktur haben kann.

Herbert beweist damit einmal wieder, dass er seine Herkunft, den Ursprung der Region, die Reben und eine Technik beherrscht, die ihresgleichen sucht.

100 % Chasselas from that authentic producer, from an authentic place. Valais, Switzerland. One of my favorite winemakers at the moment. The wine shows a lot of fresh fruit flavors, tart acid, soft tannins and has a powerful backbone!
